The FAM tour is being organized as part of the Baltic Nature Tourism project to promote Latvia and Estonia as nature tourism destinations. The tour will take place from January 28 to 31, allowing participants to explore the Northern Vidzeme region and Estonia's Soomaa National Park.
The first FAM tour was held last September, with the second tour following in early summer this year, where seven UK media outlets and tour operators joined on a three-day journey through Kurzeme. Feedback from the tours has been positive, with many participants visiting Latvia or the Baltics for the first time. They all agree that the Baltics are a hidden gem, often expressing surprise at the wide range and high quality of activities available outside of Riga. This upcoming FAM tour will be the third within the project, with a focus on showcasing the winter nature tourism opportunities in Latvia and Estonia.
In January, participants will enjoy activities like sauna rituals, dog sledding, Finnish kicksledding, hiking, and more, all guided by an expert. They’ll also experience traditional Latvian cuisine, visiting local restaurants and cafes.
*A FAM (familiarization) tour is a specially organized trip led by tourism companies, tourism boards, or related organizations to introduce journalists, bloggers, travel agents, or other industry professionals to a particular destination or set of services.
