18th of May in Mazirbe at the Livi Cultural House gathered all the people interested in the closing meeting on the presentation of the plan for preserving the Livi intangible cultural heritage in the northern Kurzeme region. The event was opened by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Latvia and the President of the Assembly of the Latvian National Commission for the UNESCO Dace Melbārde, expressing support for the Livi cultural heritage application for the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and, later, for inclusion in the UNESCO list.
All the participants agreed on the final version of the plan for the preservation of the Livi intangable cultural heritage of North Kurzeme and its subsequent progress towards submission of the application for the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage by June 29. As a result of the approval of the application, this will be an annex to further progress towards inclusion in the UNESCO Heritage List.
