The owner of Dzīles prepares hearty Lettigalian dishes, offers countryside goodies, and teaches visitors how to bake tortes and pierogi.  “Dzīļi Bread” is a special food and a symbol of recognition in Kārsava.  Visitors can bake bread in accordance with ancient traditions, as well as taste and purchase bread.  The owner has studied local traditions that were originally introduced by the noblewoman of the local estate, and she uses both ancient and modern recipes to bake her wares.

Lettigalian bacon, pearl barley porridge with side dishes, potatoes stuffed with bacon and onions, sautéed vegetables with meat, berry bread, tea with honey, local Dzīļi bread with bran, raisins, cranberry jam and linen seed.

The baker is on level territory, with no access barriers.  The work is all done on the first floor of the building, and visitors should have no difficulties.  

Holders of senior citizen cards receive a 20% discount during the off-season and 15% off during the season.

The hosts bake Rye bread, Dzīļu bread, and Dark seed bread. They also prepare finger foods on rye bread, layered rye bread dessert, and rye bread cakes. Received several awards in exhibitions and competitions. Meals are available.

For groups of up to 50 people and individually, as well as for groups of students and for families with children:

The programme “Explore the Grain’s Journey From Field to Fork”: tasting 5 types of bread and, at the end, a cake or the traditional asuškas, 2-3 h.

Sweet and sour bread workshop: baking bread, making cheese, and preparing lunch, up to 6 h.
